What does this mean?
This recall for Levothroid (levothyroxine sodium) 50 mcg and 75 mcg tablets from Lloyd Pharmaceutical was issued at a warehouse and pharmacy level only. The FDA and the manufacturer have determined that any recalled product that may have been dispensed to patients is unlikely to cause a significant health risk. If you take Levothroid 50 mcg or 75 mcg tablets from Lloyd Pharmaceuticals and you have noticed symptoms of low thyroid hormone such as fatigue, weight gain, hair or skin problems, or problems with bowel movements, or have any other concerns about your medicine, you should speak to your doctor.
Lloyd Pharmaceutical Recalls Select Lots of Levothroid 50 mcg and 75 mcg Tablets
Lloyd Pharmaceutical has recalled two lots of Levothroid tablets. The following lot numbers have been recalled because routine testing found that the amount of active ingredient was too low in several samples from these lots: Levothroid (levothyroxine sodium tablets). 50 mcg - Lot number 1087589
Levothroid (levothyroxine sodium tablets), 75 mcg - Lot number 1092045
Levothroid contains the active ingredient levothyroxine sodium and is commonly used in the treatment hypothyroidism, a condition of low thyroid hormone levels. Levothyroxine sodium is also sold under several brand names including Synthroid. This recall alert only applies to the two lot of Levothroid listed above. No other levothyroxine sodium products were involved in this recall.
