Voluntary Recall of Certain Lots of Claritin Eye Drops
Several retail stores have posted information about a voluntary recall of certain lots of Claritin Eye drops, sold over-the-counter (OTC). According to Schering Plough Consumer Products Department, Claritin Eye drops lot numbers JD2529V, JD2530, JD2531, JD2432, JD2533, JD3861, and JH9861 are being recalled because these lots measured at a low pH during routine testing and did not meet the manufacturer's quality standards. To date, there have been no reports of adverse events caused by these recalled products. Please note, no other Claritin products are involved in this recall. Voluntary Recall of Several Children's Tylenol and Infants' Tylenol Products
McNeil Consumer Healthcare is initiating a voluntary recall of certain product lots of Children's Tylenol (acetaminophen), and Infants' Tylenol (acetaminophen). Both of these products are sold over-the-counter (OTC). The company is initiating this recall for select Children's Tylenol product lots after determining that a small number of product bottles purchased from one of their external suppliers have specific areas where the bottle plastic is thinner than required by their standard specifications. The "thin-walled" bottle may not maintain stability over time due to increased light exposure once the bottle is removed from the outer carton. The company is initiating the recall for select Infants' Tylenol product lots because the potential exists for the product lot number and/or expiration date printed on the bottle to become illegible as a result of consumer handling over the life of the product. To date there have been no reports of adverse events caused by these recalled products.
